My hiatus is now over and I am settled into being home in FL. I apologize for the long pause.. Roc Me Out is back to share our ideas, thoughts, updates, and love for beauty/fashion! I took the last 2 weeks to unpack, settle in, see family, and attend a wedding. The Summer is officially here with temperatures in the 90’s! When it comes to daytime outfits in FL, less is definitely more! Unless we are talking about accessorizing, of course!

Neon is a summer color that I love! A great way to add a pop of color to any outfit is a bright mani/pedi with dainty accessories.

Coming To America…

My life has changed this year in many ways. I quit my full time career in professional sports as a service rep for NHL season ticket members, I moved to Italy with my boyfriend who plays professional basketball over seas, started an online boutique, and gave my beloved puppy to my mom while I was gone..  I am now back in FL for the Summer (still with no puppy).

Officially back in Florida after living in Italy for 5 months.. I have settled back into the heat! phew.. Nothing like the humidity and sun rays of Tampa, FL. This was my first time leaving the country for more than a couple weeks at a time. Settling back into FL has been easy considering this is my home and all. But I must admit that I like the idea of moving, trying out new cities, and experiencing different cultures now more than ever. I have been back a week and I am already itching to just go!

Coming back to the city I lived and worked for 5 years has been bitter sweet because my life is totally different now. Is it normal to miss ALWAYS being on the go after leaving a long term career?? Well I do miss it in many ways… I miss having deadlines, office friends, commission, game nights, the office buzz, etc..  I know many women go through this adjustment when leaving work for a baby and other reasons.. Advice is welcome on adjusting to working from home in a start up. Time to start filling my schedule with productive work, fitness, and fun time!

First I am reminiscing about my leisure days in Italy…. Reminds me to LIVE IN THE MOMENT!

This time of year I always feel like its time for pops of color to be a priority in my wardrobe.. You know? It’s like May comes around and it’s time for floral, nautical prints, and pops of colors in accessories, bags, and shoes. Celebrate the warm weather!

Summertime Fine!

Cheers to warm weather and sunshine! It is almost time for my Summer in Florida. So I am imagining slipping on my swimsuit and a light cover up before heading to the pool/beach. I browsed the local Italian swim wear boutiques to see what is offered and I fell in love with this cover up. Live from Italy.. Favorite foods! Part 1

Roc Me Out boutique was developed with heart because of my love for retail. But if you know me, then you already know that food of all kinds is my other passion!  Living in a new country has allowed me to try a variety of new cuisines. Here are my favorite items so far in Italy.

 

#1 The BEST pizzeria EVER in my opinion.. Just cannot get enough.

#2 The real gelato in Italy is unmatched. Any flavor you can imagine, whether you want a fruity flavor or a rich dolce option like chocolate.

I like to browse the local boutiques while I am out and about. Above is a storefront in the local mall that popped out to me. Floral print is popular in a bold way over here, the colors are vibrant and prints are popping.

Spring has sprung in Italy and the sun is shinning. It is in the high 60s today but feels like it is the 70s with no humidity. Perfect weather to wear a floral print pair of leggings and tank top.

This photo popped out to me for a few different reasons. Versace’s homepage displays their new campaign- Lady Gaga for Versace! Love everything about this from her chunky jewelry, MIDI RINGS, the pastel tote bags, and Gaga’s  fierce pose. This almost reminds me of an under the sea spring look because of the couch’s oyster shell shape, sea-like coloring, and the natural make-up.

The Perfect Sweet Dessert Topping!

As much as I wish I was the one who  ROCs our kitchen, I would be lying. I cook everyday but my man is a creative cook and can throw down! When he decides to cook I get excited because I know my tummy will be in for a treat. He likes good ol’ southern home cooking with grilling, fried chicken, cheesy homemade dishes,  fresh vegetables, desserts, and the list goes on.. Lucky me! I know.. This passion of his was passed to him by his mom, the true southern home cookin’ chef! Her baked goods are TDF!!! No lie..

Yes, my multi-talented boyfriend not only cooks and plays basketball but he will also beat me every time on the pool table!

The other day he made a homemade cheesecake with a Keebler graham cracker crust (this ingredient was a big deal since we are in Italy and you cant find that here). It was left by an American friend, thanks!!

The fresh all-natural fruit topping was tangy, sweet, and no doubt the best part. We killed the cheesecake after 3 nights of servings. Now I am still craving more.

A mixture of fresh raspberries, lime juice, and sugar makes for a heavenly topping. Muddle this concoction and top any favorite dessert for a POP of fragrant flavor.
